Accra, Ghana – 4 December 2025, The Global Network of Young People Living with HIV (Y+ Global) is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed the Frontline AIDS accreditation process and is now formally recognised as an accredited partner within the Frontline AIDS Partnership.
The announcement was made during the Frontline AIDS Partners’ ICASA Partners’ Evening and Cocktail Event at the 23rd edition of the International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA 2025). Y+ Global was represented at the event by Modester Mangilani, Senior Programmes Officer: READY Programme.
“This accreditation process has strengthened the way we work and affirmed the leadership of young people in shaping effective HIV responses. When youth-led groups have the tools and confidence to act, they create powerful change for their peers. Being recognised in this way brings us closer to a shared vision of an AIDS-free generation, one where young people are firmly in the driver’s seat.”Modester Mangilani
Senior Programmes Officer: READY Programme
As part of the accreditation process, Y+ Global demonstrated strong governance and organisational leadership rooted in accountability to the communities it serves. The process confirmed that Y+ Global meets the highest standards of quality and good practice, delivering HIV programmes that uphold human rights, advance gender equality, and meaningfully engage young people and communities most affected by HIV. Through a rigorous peer-led assessment, the organisation’s work was reviewed against nine core principles and 44 standards, ensuring alignment with the shared values and vision of the Frontline AIDS Partnership.
“Y+ Global has met all required standards and demonstrated strong governance and high-quality programming. We are pleased to welcome them as an accredited partner of Frontline AIDS.”Dr. Joan Nyanyuki
Chair of the International Accreditation Committee of Frontline AIDS
The Frontline AIDS accreditation system is recognised globally as an effective mechanism for strengthening both organisational and technical capacity in HIV programming. It ensures that the meaningful involvement of people living with HIV and other marginalised groups remains central to partners’ work. Through the accreditation, Y+ Global demonstrated specialist expertise in youth leadership within HIV and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) responses.
Y+ Global’s accreditation is valid for four years, through 2029, after which the organisation will undergo the process again. During the partners’ reception, emphasis was placed on the importance of sustained investment in strong, community-rooted systems.
“May this accreditation give donors even greater confidence to continue investing in you as organisations, and in the work you do to empower and transform communities. Many organisations remain standing because of the resilience that comes from strong systems, and we encourage donors to continue supporting and strengthening our collective efforts.”Paul Sagna
