AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS | The Global Network of Young people living with HIV (Y+ Global) is pleased to announce the change in the Leadership Board and the appointment of four new Board members following our yearly Management Board meeting in December 2021 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Our heartfelt thank you goes to Igor Kuchin, the outgoing Board Chair; Daren Paul Katigbak, the outgoing Vice-Chair, and Renatta Langlais, the Treasurer for working towards improving the quality of life of young people living with HIV and most affected by HIV in all our diversity.
With effect from the 1st of April 2022, Tanaka Chirombo will be the new Board Chair of Y+ Global with support from Kaweme Chunga as the Deputy-Chair and Moises Maciel Da Silva as the Treasurer. The newly appointed Leadership Board represents East and Southern Africa, West and Central Europe, and Latin America respectively.“We are here today because of the tremendous support from the communities of young people we directly work with, our passionate sisterhood of networks and partners. Igor will continue to serve on the Board of Y+ Global in 2022.
The new Board Chair, Tanaka Chirombo is an HIV/AIDS Facilitator and Health Rights Advocate currently working with Youth and Society (YAS) – human rights and governance watchdog with focus on youth and marginalized groups. He has been representing young people living with HIV at regional and global levels through active participation and engagement with the Virology Education through the HIV & Adolescence Workshop 2021 and the International AIDS Society through the AIDS 2022 Global Village and Youth Organizing Committee.“We wish the new Leadership Board the best.
